Information Assurance

Espion recognises that organisations need a strategic approach to managing the security of information assets. This starts with understanding the value of information to the business and the implications of a temporary or permanent loss. Utilising best practice techniques and many years of experience, Espion information assurance services looks at the criticality of information assets to create the processes needed to manage confidentiality, integrity and availability, whether in storage, while being processed or in transit.

Threat and Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing
A vulnerability assessment is the process of identifying, quantifying and prioritising the vulnerabilities in a given system. A systematic approach is critical to addressing all vulnerabilities. A penetration test is a more in-depth method of evaluating the security of a computer system, application or network by simulating an attack by a malicious user. Espion follows recognised methodologies in carrying out these tests to provide a comprehensive checklist of areas that require attention if the system is to be adequately secured.

Data Classification
Data Classification is the conscious decision to assign a level of sensitivity to data as it is being created, amended, enhanced, stored, or transmitted. The classification of the data determines the extent to which the data needs to be controlled and is also indicative of its business value. Working with organisations, Espion helps to ensure that information assets are properly secured against inadvertent errors and targeted attacks; which can be also part of a larger regulatory compliance effort.

Business Continuity Management (BS 25999)
In the event of a disaster, it is critical that plans and procedures are in place to deal with the impact of disruption to key functions – revenue, customer service and internal operations. The British Standard BS 25999 establishes the process, principles and terminology of business continuity management (BCM). Espion uses this recognised standard to work with companies that need to effectively manage business continuity. By applying best practices Espion customers can be confident in their approach to responding to any incidents that may impact operations.
